Perfect Intruders by Jean-Pierre Martinez Performed at Theater Artvent in Sofia, Bulgaria

Perfect Intruders

Perfect intruders / Съвършени натрапници / Nos pires amis

Family acquaintances from the countryside visit their Parisian friends with yet another invitation to spend the vacation together. The hosts do everything they can to sabotage the persistent intruders’ plans, but the more lies they invent, the more tangled they become in them. It turns out that even the best-made-up stories require perfect execution.

Both families have surprises on the menu that no one is prepared for, and each new situation adds an even sharper flavor than the previous one.

Interview with Jean-Pierre Martinez by Petya Krusteva for ArtPortal, November 18, 2024
  • We were warmly welcomed in Bulgaria; we feel at home.
  • In my plays, people are neither good nor bad.
  • My dream has always been to be a writer, but I never thought I could make a living from it.
  • Humor is a wonderful way to share.

Jean-Pierre Martinez is a name discreetly hidden behind a dozen theatrical posters in our country. He is a loyal friend to lovers of theater and humor, not only in Bulgaria but also in some of the most remote corners of the world. Nearly 350 stagings per year and 113 original works represent only a portion of his professional achievements.

Despite his popularity and the ease with which he writes, Jean-Pierre Martinez never takes himself too seriously. On the contrary, one of his favorite pastimes is to laugh at himself. For him, humor is a universal language to communicate with a world he finds fascinating.

Armed with a broad smile, he meets the Art Portal team to tell us more about his work and, in particular, about the premiere of Perfect Intruders staged by Artvent.

Laugh along with us!
