Every Colour Under the Sun organises its sixteen sketches like a chromatic score in which each shade opens up a new field of meaning. A familiar expression, taken literally, is enough to throw the situation off balance and shift the dialogue from everyday life towards the absurd, the fantastic or dystopia. Colour is therefore not merely a decorative theme: it becomes a dramaturgical force. By naming the world, words alter the way the characters perceive it and ultimately transform reality itself.

Behind this playful palette lies a political reflection on the conventions used to classify opinions, individuals and social conditions. From racism to economic privilege, colour exposes the arbitrary categories that society presents as natural. The opening scene and the epilogue push this logic as far as the commodification of perception itself. With its thirty possible characters, shifts of register and flexible casting, the collection provides ensemble theatre with rich visual and rhythmic material in which the performers’ transformations echo those of language.
