About SITFY Poland

The International Youth Theatre Festival in Charm el-Cheikh (SITFY) serves as a platform for young theatre creators from around the world to meet and exchange experiences, particularly those honing their skills in theatre academies, universities, and other educational centers. Founded by Egyptian director Mazen El Gharabawy, the festival launched on January 7th, 2016, providing young theatre enthusiasts with the opportunity to showcase their talents and gain recognition on a broader stage.

What sets the festival apart is that it is not merely an adult-driven project targeting youth; rather, young people assume full responsibility for the organization and all aspects of the festival. With the guidance and support of renowned artists and professors from the theatre world, young creators have the chance to acquire practical knowledge and industry experience to further their development.

Following the success of eight editions held in Charm el-Cheikh, the festival organizers decided to expand and host additional editions in different parts of the world. Poland, specifically Krakow, was selected as the first European venue for the SITFY festival.

Video produced by the organizers of SITFY Poland and screened during the closing ceremony of the festival.
